Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information Strive Social collects through this website, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it. It applies to strivesocials.com.

Who we are

Strive Social is a social media management business based in Cheshire, United Kingdom. For the purposes of UK data protection law we are the data controller for the information described in this policy.

If you have any question about this policy or about how your information is handled, please get in touch.

Information we collect

When you contact us

Our enquiry form asks for your name, email address, phone number, company name and whatever you choose to tell us about your business. We only ask for these so we can reply to you and understand whether we are the right fit.

Form submissions are stored in this website’s database and are also sent to us by email.

When you browse the site

Like most websites, our hosting and content delivery network automatically record technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit and the time of your visit. This happens as part of serving and securing the website.

If you consent to analytics cookies, we also collect anonymised usage statistics through Google Analytics so we can see which pages are useful and which are not. You can decline this, and the site works perfectly well without it.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

  • To respond to your enquiry — our lawful basis is legitimate interest, or steps taken at your request before entering into a contract.
  • To provide our services to clients — our lawful basis is performance of a contract.
  • To keep the website running and secure — our lawful basis is legitimate interest.
  • To understand how the site is used — our lawful basis is your consent, given through the cookie banner.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies. Essential ones keep the site working; others are only set if you agree. You can change your choice at any time using the cookie preferences control on the site.

A full breakdown of every cookie, what it does and how long it lasts is in our Cookie Policy.

Who else processes your information

We use a small number of trusted providers to run this website and our business. Each only receives what it needs:

  • Our web host — stores the website and its database, including enquiry form submissions.
  • Bunny.net — the content delivery network that serves images and files quickly. It processes IP addresses as part of delivering content.
  • Google Analytics — website usage statistics, only where you have consented.
  • Our email provider — delivers enquiry notifications and our replies to you.
  • Tagembed — displays our social media feed on the site.
  • Google Maps — shown on our location pages. The map is not loaded until you choose to open it, so no Google Maps cookies are set unless you ask for the map.

Some of these providers operate outside the UK. Where information is transferred abroad, it is protected by the safeguards required under UK data protection law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or an adequacy decision.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only for as long as we actually need it.

  • Enquiries that do not become work — kept for up to 24 months, then deleted.
  • Client records — kept for the duration of our work together, and then for as long as we are required to keep financial records.
  • Analytics data — retained according to the settings in our Google Analytics account.

If you would like your enquiry deleted sooner, just ask and we will remove it.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct anything that is wrong;
  • ask us to delete it;
  • object to us using it, or ask us to restrict how we use it;
  • ask us to transfer it to someone else;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where we relied on consent.

To exercise any of these, contact us. We will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Keeping your information safe

This website is served over an encrypted connection, access to the site’s admin area is restricted and protected, and we limit who can see enquiry data to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you send us.

Children

This site is aimed at businesses and is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect information about anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will make that clear.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
